South River Deseado field: oil exploitation

Governor Claudio Vidal: “After 20 years, an oil field is being reactivated.”

“With this new Canadian technology, we have the opportunity to produce much more and at a more economical cost,” said Governor Claudio Vidal this Thursday during the start of the pilot test by the Canadian company SurCana. He highlighted the “low environmental impact”.

He mentioned that communication with Alianza Petrolera Argentina SA and SurCana Energy began in May. “We extended exploration permits through the Provincial Ministry of Energy and Mining, and they are beginning the activity today,” he indicated.
